The Clearwater Main Library houses the Clearwater Sun Photograph Archive, which contains more than 60,000 printed photographs organized by topic. While the Clearwater Sun was published from 1914-1989, the photograph archive contains images primarily from the 1960s-1980s. The collection is available for research by request on the fourth floor of the Clearwater Main Library. A selection of these photographs have been cataloged and shared on Pinellas Memory; initial coverage includes library and city events and locations, followed by local community organizations. This project's success is dependent on skilled volunteers. Students and volunteers with cataloging, archives, and local history experience are encouraged to volunteer.
A portion of the Clearwater Historical Society's extensive photograph archive has been scanned, cataloged, and made available on Pinellas Memory. For more information about this collection, please direct inquiries to the Clearwater Historical Society.
